Victor J. Arruda

Mr. Arruda’s career in SSDI advocacy began when he established the west coast operations for one of the first nationwide all attorney organizations. As President and co-founder of Social Security Advocates for the Disabled (SSAD), Mr. Arruda has coordinated with Ann Marie Beaudoin to establish the strategic direction of the organization since founding of The Social Security Law Group (SSLG) in 1994. Mr. Arruda’s visionary leadership, focus on growth, and quality service has been instrumental in positioning SSAD/SSLG as the largest and longest standing all-attorney SSDI advocacy company in the LTD industry.

With the desire to develop a web-based system with real time data, Mr. Arruda developed the very first version of our interactive case management system in 1998, and our predictive model in 2009; he continues to be the driving force behind our cutting-edge technologies. Over the last several years, he has overseen system upgrades geared toward improving efficiencies, enhancing the claimant experience and providing accurate, highly detailed outcomes reporting to our LTD partners. Many of the concepts now customary in the industry were originally introduced by SSLG under the leadership of Attorney Arruda.

Prior to his role at SSLG, Mr. Arruda served in the United States Navy working as a defense lawyer in the elite Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG), rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

He is a member of the National Association of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives. Mr. Arruda has been a presenter at industry conferences and seminars, including Eastern Claims Conference, International Claim Association and Gen Re.
